The Weekend - Trilogy (iTunes Version) 2012

The difference between this man compared to say Neyo, Bruno Mars or Usher...he goes where the others are afraid to. He sings about what's exactly on his mind in a poetically crude and unapologetic way. If you or I spoke the lyrics to a woman, she'd probably walk off, but coming from Abel? Audio aphrodisiac. This man is a genius.

I was skeptical at first since I already had all his previous mixtapes which make up the majority of "Trilogy". Sure it's remastered but how much better can it be?...turns out...significantly better. Don't get me wrong, the original recordings will always have it's underground grittiness that I love, kinda like vinyl vs cd, but in the remastered version reveals sounds and textures not previously experienced both in the music and in Abel's vocals. There are also some extras thrown in here and there. The new tracks are pure gold and are akin closer to the style of "House of Balloons" and "Thursday"

If you are a fan of The Weeknd, you will love his first official album. If you are not yet familiar with his work, get this album..you won't be disappointed.
